Hi I'm new.
In December a pair of sunbirds chose to build a nest on a string of fairy lights on our deck, just outside our back door. So close we had to block the door so we don't hit it.
After about a week she came & sat on the nest for about 2 weeks. Then on Christmas Eve she/they left. There was no evidence of anything ever being in the nest.
Now, about 2 weeks ago she returned & is back on the nest just like before. She goes off but returns.
So..does anyone know what's likely to be going on? I read that they seldom return to a used nest, but I'm not even sure this is being "used".
Could she/they just be immature?
