A fantastic place to spend a day or more.

A big day from Brisbane and back means an early start but so worthwhile. It was worth 8 new birds for me taking my total of Australian birds photographed to 319. Great company on the day and a great part of the world.
Brown Treecreeper.
Just one shot of a sequence of shots showing these birds inspect a potential new home..
Hooded Robin.
White-Plumed Honeyeater.
Spiny-Cheeked Honeyeater ... not a tick but fantastic light.
White-browed Babbler.
Red-Capped Robin.
Turquoise Parrot.
Jacky Winter. Not a tick but great conditions for photography.
Good work John. Great to see your new ticks especially the White-browed babbler.
Thanks Rick. It was so common on the day that I can't believe it was such a big deal.
Samford Valley Qld.
Great shots, only the Jacky Winter I havent seen before but I love the Turquoise Parrot and the Babbler especially.
Great shots, and seems like an extraordianary location with a great name

Great range of shots, certainly a worthwhile trip for you, all of those would be firsts for me.

Fantastic shots and as Westerner , so many birds that i dont see
Love the turquoise parrot
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
That babbler shot is a real winner! It and the White Plumed HE are the only ones I'd see with any kind of regularity down here. Would have been a very enjoyable day aindeed.

Great shots John. Sundown is a special spot and great to see how much success you had there. Just imaging what you could capture in a couple of days!
Yes I have been thinking about that. Would be a great spot to camp for the night and spend more time there. It sounds as though you are familiar with the area?
Samford Valley Qld.
Yes, have been there quite a few times over the past 15 years ... as a 4WDer and camped once down on the flats next to the river. Must go back armed with my camera ... your shots are quite inspirational. Cheers Murray
Great photos ... fantastic day getting eight new ones.
I like the brown tree creeper photo - unusual to get see a eye level shot of a tree creeper (at least with the WT tree creeper which is the only one i have seen)
like the WP honeyeater and Little lorries m8.
Thanks Zosterops. The Little Lorikeets were very entertaining. The hole was actually to small for the birds to access so I assume the male ( the bird with its head inside) was actually trying to enlarge the cavity. Not sure if that is what was the case but it appeared to be. The female however was only interested in preening herself while this was going on. It occured to me at the that just maybe we humans have more in common with birds than is normally noted. Apologies to all female readers in advance....

Great shots. I really like the Babbler. And of course the Turquoise Parrot, which is a species that continues to elude me...
Well done Reflex,
For a change from your posts i have all of them.

Great shots. I only have the Jacky Winter but not nearly as nice as your shot.
