Australasian Bittern!?!

Hello everyone! Today I received the most unexpected visitor. As I was again walking in the park I heard VERY loud mobbing from noisy minors. I stood for a moment looking in the direction of the mobbing, there was very thick trees covering up a slope, where the creek was. All of a sudden the call of the Mobbing changed and a large brownish bird flew out. I was expecting it to be a Brown Goshawk as they are common around here, but has it got closer I noticed it had a large bill, different feather pattern and long yellowish legs trailing behind it. Then it clicked in my mind that it was a bittern of some kind. When I got home I identified it has a Australasian Bittern, a rare visitor, especially in conditions not suitable for one. It was a amazing experience, and I hope that I see it more.

Ah, Cooee, it's a great thrill to witness events of this kind, especially when it involves a species you don't often see. Perhaps it's rarely seen your way because once bittern, twice shy.
