I finally managed to get a shot of a Brown Thornbill... they are such busy little birds. Taken through glass so please ignore my dirty windows!

Dark red eye (prominent), striped throat, etc.
Typical body language for a BT.

Yes it was me wondering if it was a BT or not that was visiting the purple flower outside my window every day, I'm such a doubting thomas aren't I?! convinced now, and thanks for info.
