Recently a bird flew smack into our large plate-glass window in spite of the silhouette of a hawk put there to prevent just such an event happening. Shortly after I noticed a butcherbird sitting in the Rhododendron nearby. It stayed there for some time and I assumed that it was taking a while to recover, until it flew onto the ground below and started to attack a dead female blackbird.
Obviously it was the blackbird which had flown into the window. The butcherbird continued to butcher the blackbird and took no notice of the fact that I was taking photographs. It was most excited and made a lot of noise as it went about its task.
