This noisy friarbird was photographed in a macadamia (qeensland nut) tree in my north Brisbane quarter acre block this morning. I recognised him first by his raucous call. Photos taken through my kitchen window because he was so high up in the tree.
In one photo he appears to be stretching up to get a nut Perhaps he facies a change of diet.
Hi Sewal
You have caught it well.
More likely to be looking for juicy caterpillars than that nut.
Good observation, anyway.
Cheers

G'day, Denis. I was making a joke about the friarbird eying the macadamia nut. I did see him take a short flight that looked like he was chasing an insect in flight. I'm not quick enough with the camera to catch a photo of that. Sue
