It's that time of year when the migrants return. Koel, Channel-billed Cuckoo, White-breasted Woodswallow, Sacred Honeyeater, Red Knot, Pacific Golden Plover, Ruddy Turnstone, Red-necked stint, Far Eastern Curlew are among the recent arrivals in the Hunter Valley.

Yesterday I saw Bar-tailed Godwit, Curlew Sandpipers, Sharp-tailed Sandpipers and Grey-tailed Tattlers.

Yesterday I saw a very organised attack by a group of magpies and noisy mynas on a cuckoo. It looked and sounded very fierce.
