Hi there - we've just returned from our local park in SE Qld -and were enthralled with the movements of a crested hawk - she was just divine & in front of us found and fed herself 4 wee green tree frogs (a little sad for the frogs - but good for the bird)!
What amazed us though, was the fact that this bird is feeding and living in and around a children's park (admittedly surrounded by lots of green) - but also a dog park!
We felt so lucky to see and view this gorgeous creature, we had to share!

I lived in St Lucia (Brisbane) for 6 years, and there was a group of 5 or 6 that lived there that I would see quite regularly - if you learn their call you'll find them more often too, I recommend that! They're great to watch crashing through the foliage picking off insects / frogs etc..

My parents live in Petrie, just north of Brisbane city, and every year a pair nests in the gums in their yard.
I have seen them at Minnippi Parklands on Brisbanes southside and got a couple of photos hidden up under the tree canopy, so photos were not good but I look for them every time I go there to get a good shot because they look amazing.
