Princess Parrots in the Wild

Being from a cold Country (Canada)even when I was real young I had a dream of coming to Australia and filming your amazing parrots. One target was the rare Princess Parrot and by an amazing amount of good fortune I found a flock and videod them! Hope you like the images. They are only fair because they are stills from my video.
Cheers!

Don

Tassie

It is most certainly beautiful out there mate, I have travelled across there many times from the East coast to the West coast and it never ceases to amaze me just how big this country is.
I have the best office in the world and I consider it a privilege to be able to travel around this beautiful country even if it is working.

Learned how to use image shack to share here so will repost these images of the Princess. They sure are a gorgeous bird and it was my favorite adventure in 6 months of filming being with them!

Tassie

Gidday Don,I have just checked out your trip around Australia, truly amazing.
Superbs,Turks,Scarlets,Orange bellies, these are some that even most Australians will never see in their life time, well done mate and very well put together.
You should approach National Geographic with your finished product.

Hi Tassie:

So glad you enjoyed the images on the blog. Tonight I slogged through lots more footage and almost completed Little Corella. I am working my way through the journey state by state and have almost completed NSW.

I sure recognize how fortunate I was to see so many fantastic parrots mate. I have been told by others as well that many of my aussie mates could use some of the species I filmed as well on their life lists. I am pretty much blown away by the whole experience and can hardly wait to finish the film to share with others.

National Geographic has some pretty tough standards so not sure my footage is up to that Tassie but I feel very encouraged by your kind words.

Cheers mate and thanks again!

Don
