Something quite rare

The other night I visited my owls nest in the mountains. Further to a previous post, I can confirm that there is a chick being raised inside the nest hollow. This night (17/04) the male called from his roost three times before flying to the nest hollow and copulated with the female. A friend even recorded the male with his Telinga parabola microphone as well as the chick begging in the nest.

Apparently not an image like this has been taken in the wild of this species yet. (there is a man by the name of John Young, who photographed the Lesser Sooty Owl mating at very close range, which is now a race of this species). However, not this, the Greater Sooty Owl of the south eastern rainforests. Sorry, I will not disclose location.
