White masked lapwing

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, joined to share some pics of an unusual bird. I'm sure everyone's familiar with the masked lapwings (spur winged plovers). I'd never seen a white one, then earlier this year (perhaps in April), I did see one. I didn't have a camera with me (and I was driving), so I didn't get any photos then. Just yesterday, I heard our resident pair of masked lapwings making the familiar "intruding lapwing" racket. I looked out my window and saw the white one. I rushed to grab the nearest camera, and took these shots:

Sorry about the poor quality, I had absolutely no time to do anything, it was point and shoot as fast as possible:

Mhmm, that's probably a lucisitc masked lapwing lem :0 It's a condition where some cells or pigments fail to develop or something and results in white patches, it's pretty rare though so a pretty cool sighting :D
