I'm new to the forum, joined to share some pics of an unusual bird. I'm sure everyone's familiar with the masked lapwings (spur winged plovers). I'd never seen a white one, then earlier this year (perhaps in April), I did see one. I didn't have a camera with me (and I was driving), so I didn't get any photos then. Just yesterday, I heard our resident pair of masked lapwings making the familiar "intruding lapwing" racket. I looked out my window and saw the white one. I rushed to grab the nearest camera, and took these shots:

Mhmm, that's probably a lucisitc masked lapwing lem :0 It's a condition where some cells or pigments fail to develop or something and results in white patches, it's pretty rare though so a pretty cool sighting :D
