Young Koel being fed by Wattlebird

24-12-07 from 3.15 onwards.
A soft continuous calling took my attention and I discovered a young Koel in the Christmas bush outside my window .
The wattlebirds came of and on to feed it.
Took plenty of photo's .
How do I download them ?
Have not got a website.

G'day Hank, in the General thread of this forum is a post giving information on inserting photos. You don't need to have your own website, just register with a free site like flickr.com and upload your photos. You might like to have a look at my photos of a juvenile koel seen in suburban Brisbane. They are in the Identifications thread in a post entitled Unusual visitor. Welcome to the forum.

It seems all too complicated and confusing to me .
I'll wait till an easier way comes up.
Where is the thread : bird photo's ?

Hank, when you go into the forum you see a table layout. Down the left the sections or threads of the forum are listed. There is one entitled Best photos and another entitled Identifications. I put my koel photos in the Identifications thread as I did not at first recognise the bird and was requesting help. When you open Identifications ther is another table with a list of threads that members have created depending on their request. As I said, my photos are in the thread Unusual visitor in the Identifications thread. Spend some time exploring the site if you can. I recommend it as the best way to learn how it works.

Hank, at what point are you having a problem. Can you upload pics to Flickr? If you can then what is your problem with adding pics to the forum. Would like to help as a picture is worth a thousand words.

NoisyMajor has provided a step by step for image uploads here:

It is up to you which photo site you want to use, but all of them have upload tools to help you resize images etc

Yes OndinE and Sewal ,
I know where to go for downloading pics , but they don't work for me .'Flickr is Yahoo.
Two years ago I registered with them ,did not use Yahoo since, but now it does not except the details . Tried reregestering but it says you have already registered .So that one is out.
Tried Photobucket , got registered and browsed three pics to be downloaded .After 1/2 hour it was still downloading . Did not see anywhere that there was a limit to the size of pics .....
Gave that one a miss too .
I am 83 years young and 3 years on computer; have some experience ; sending pictures to lots of places .but not via others !!!
Some time or other I wil try again , when I have more time .

Hi Hank,

There is a space between the / and the m of mypage. Close the gap and it works.

Yay for Hank!

I'm glad you persevered. Looks like you got pretty close to the Koel. Well done.

Hello Booshkie ,
I was about 4 m away ; but the 300 mm Tamron Zoom lens on my Canon EOS did help too .
I took 14 pics , only showed the best .
