Good Try, some believe it is a juvenile Red kneed Dotterel. I dídn't think it was though, I saw Red kneeds with their juveniles as well but it looks a bit different to this bird.
I think it is a juvenile Red capped Plover, there were adult Red capped Plovers nearby on the ephemeral wetland.
Yep, hopefully there will be more comments from other birders...

Funny you should say this Curtis, I thought it might be, but I have never seen a juvenile Red capped Plover, so I can't tell.

I like your first ID . Red - kneed Dotterel because in the juvenile breast band is absent .
