Uploading Photos

Hi all, I'm having problems with uploading from Flickr, I'm copying and pasting the hyperlink. The 1st attempt actually uploaded the small image, however when I clicked on save I got an error report.

The second and following attempts dont even give me the initial small image, all I get uploaded is the (small ? in a little blue box). I'm doing something wrong but have no idea what as I'm following the instructions to the letter. Im using a Mac Pro laptop and Safari.

Anyone one else had similar issues that may shed some light.

Cheers

Sorry Dennis (& Holly/admin), I started a thread that was the same as yours.  I'll delete mine so as not to cause any confusion with the double-up & pop the members comments from the deleted post that were relevant to the post/problem below instead

Here's one I haven't seen before, I can get into any other thread, but not Bird of the Week?  It pings to a screen with an error message saying:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get_parameters() on a non-object in /home/birdsinb/public_html/sites/all/modules/media_flickr/themes/media_flickr.theme.inc on line 58

Hi Annie,

I've just joined Flickr today and have been pulling my hair out this morning trying to upload pics and having the same issue, although I'm having it trying to upload photos to "Bird of the week" & "Best Photos".

I got the small image up ok but when I clicked on 'SAVE" I got the exact same msg as you. on follow-up attempts I didnt even get the small image uploaded to "SAVE" I just got the little ? in the little blue box instead of the image.

Well at least we know its not just you & its not just me.

I thought I was doing something wrong, so maybe not.

Cheers.

Definitely I don't think it's you at all Dennis, just a temporary glitch on the site perhaps - or between the site & flickr perhaps.  I haven't tried posting anywhere else today, just bird of the week, so wonder if anyone is having any posting issues in any other sections of the forum?

Same problem here. I have tried to post from flickr for two days , I asked my PC guru, he couldn't make sense of it either. To start with I got this: message from webpage   -  some options have changed. I can't even click on the ok field.

Then the same as Annie .fatal error.....

I thought it was me. But I'm doing exactly what I used to do for two years when posting from flickr.

Hope this problem can be solved?

Well, I'm still trying to upload from flickr to "best photos" & still getting the same result, however I see that some people are able to upload from flickr????? as of yesterday afternoon.

A random suggestion, but you could always open a (free) temporary Photobucket account (or similar) in the interim, so you can both at least get your piccies/posts up while the problem's being looked into.  I don't use Photobucket anymore, so no ideas if there are issues loading from that either, but just a thought.

Thanks for your idea Annie its a good one, however I'll just keep resizing manually and uploading from Iphoto. It takes slightly longer and usually results in an slightly smaller image & less resolution but not too bad.

Hopefully all will be resolved soon.

Cheers.

No worries and fair enough too, probably less hassle than having two hosting accounts out in cyberspace smiley.  I'm sure the BIBY team will have a plan of attack tomorrow anyway.  I'm still locked out of Bird of the Week entirely, so it seems likely a site glitch.

Hi guys

Sorry seems to be some major site/server issues going on. I think we are just growing too big! Coming up with a plan of attack so we can get things back to normal (hopefully it won't cost a bomb either!).

Cheers
