Part way through a WA road trip and cell coverage is a bit scratchy. Saw some nice birds crossing the Nullarbor including first photos of Australian Bustards, a really lovely bird and very well camouflagued. Next stop was Dryandra Woodlands for a couple of days. Managed a couple of endemics (the easy ones :-) ) Western Thornbill, Eastern Rosella, Carnaby's Black-Cockatoo also some nice Red-Taileds. Highlights at Dryandra were Bee-Eaters picking bees of the dam and a magic pair of very hard working Sacred Kingfishers. Happy new year to all at BIB. Off too look for Noisy Scrub-birds day after tomorrow, but not too hopefull

Happy New Year and good luck to you too Rick. :) Just adore the Bee Eaters. :)
glad your making the most of WA, lovely shots, great to see you got some good kingfishers.
mike
Thanks Mike, windshear and Happy New Year to you as well, and all at BIB.
Mike, Kingfishers were special, watched them for a couple of hours. Back and forwards about every twenty minutes or so with a great variety of morsels for the hungry chicks.
Heading over to Stirling Ranges but on the way took a back track to Manjinup and saw some lovely birds and reptiles.
Stopped at a stand of huge Karri trees called The Four Aces, majestic trees, and got some nice views of White-breasted Robins,Blue-fronted Fairy-wrens and Western Yellow Robins just around the car park.
You really are posting some fantastic shots. I was happy enough to photograph a Peaceful Dove this afternoon in the chook-pen until I saw these!
What are the Bee-eaters doing, just scouping up some water for a drink?
Samford Valley Qld.
Loving the time now at Stirling Ranges Retreat. Just a little bit of bird heaven
Couple of firsts in Owlet Nightjar, Purple-capped Lorikeet and Tawny-crowned Honeyeater plus Grey Butcher Bird feeding a young one
and some lovely Silvereyes.
Drove down to Albany today for a magic couple of hours viewing a Musk duck feeding and teaching the
young one the tricks of the trade.
Great shots as always Rick and congrats on the new ones, i love finding new birds.
It's posts like this that make me start planning my next road trip

Thanks Shorty,Peter.
On the way home now, stopped for a day at the Eyre Bird Observatory to see the iconic
Major Mitchells and was lucky enough to see a Chestnut-Backed Quail-Thrush on the track in.
Petrol stop at Caiguna provided the photogenic Corvid, Not sure of the ID.
Next stop was No2 Bunda cliffs lookout for my first Rufous Field Wren and a nice White-Browed Scrub Wren.
One more day of travel and a great trip is over, tired but happy
The corvid is an Australian Raven I believe, Rick.
Thanks Woko.
