I have just returned from a trip to Alaska and road trip from Seattle to Los vegas. I managed to squeeze in some birding. The first is a Costa humming bird which is only 3.1 grams and 7,7cm, such a tiny bird. The second is a Cedar waxwing.

Beautiful! I'm originally from the States and I love to see photos of birds I'm more familiar with. Hummingbirds are hard lil' boogers to catch as well as you did, and the waxwings aren't real populous where I lived so I'm happy to see such a gorgeous photo!
I love the shine on the hummingbirds back
Lovely photos
Ohh, a Hummingbird . I'd love to see the Bee Hummingbird one day...don't think I'll be getting to Cuba (?) anytime soon though . That Waxwing is stunning! So envious of that beautiful catchlight in the eye Headsie - I struggle so much getting black eyes to stand out when there is also that black facial/around eye colouration. Lovely shots
West Coast Tasmania
I remember seeing the iridescent green hummingbirds in Paraguay when I was travelling there years ago and being stunned at how small they were.
Cheers
