Here are some pics from Westgate park under the Wesgate bridge. Sure it's noisy and you can see strange people there, but for birding this place is wonderful. Not all photos are great, but they are all from the same visit :)

We have been there a few times, but it’s best to go during the week, less people=more birds.

By the way, unless I'm mistaken, I think your hooded plover is a black-fronted dotterel.
