When I first saw it, I thought it might be an Eastern Spinebill, same colouring. But then I realised the body shape was different and the beak not long enough. Sorry, but this is the only shot I have. I did hear a different birdcall this afternoon, after the heavy rain had stopped, so went out to look and this was the only bird I could see out there.
It's a White-browed Scrubwren.
Note kathiemt, it is always good to give location. e.g. In this case if we knew location we could more easily rule out the similar Tasmanian Scrubwren & Scrubtit, both of which are only found in Tasmania.
Of course, and my sincere apologies. I forgot to add that and thanks for the ID. Not seen one of these around here before. It seems the longer I live here, the more I see.
