What a week

I am a full time carer and some weeks are very challenging to say the least. Last week was one of those. No time to go out and take photos but when I needed a break, I'd take my camera down to the dam and sit watching the birds. And what joy it brought me. We had so many birds coming down for a drink and I have never sat so close to so many birds in my life before. At one stage there was a group of app 20 Yellow Faced Honeyeaters, app 50 Silvereye, Lewins Honeyeaters, a Varied Triller pair, Little Wattlebirds, Red Browed Finches, a Golden Whistler pair, White Throated Honeyeaters  and of course the ubiquitous Willy Wagtails and Fantails. Not great for photos as I was shooting into either the sun through branches or dark reeds by the dam edge. Anyway here are the best from my week.

PS Also captured a Little Shrike Thrush on our fence and the Rose Robin has obviously bred as we now have a juvenile.

We are in Eerwah Vale, Sunshine Coast Hinterland, SEQ.

I think with the joy comes revitalisation of the spirit. Lovely way the birds do this for us. I love the pictures

Hey, Amson. Being a full time carer is not only time consuming but can be oh, so emotionally draining. To find some time to sit & be with the birds & Nature is such an enriching & replenishing thing to do. You must really cherish those moments.
