From the amount of nesting material there it may be reusing an existing nest ?

Yeah for sure, Whistling kites are known to re use nests from year to year, adding to them each year and this is a very sizeable nest! Ordered the Tamron over a month ago, still waiting, should get great results with it when it arrives : )
