White-bellied Cuckoo-shrike on Lord Howe Island

I was surprised to see a White-bellied Cuckoo-shrike near our unit on Lord Howe. Must have come in on strong winds recently. Only managed a couple of poor pictures but the narrow black mask, white crescent at rear of eye and white belly with grye upper parts are quite clear.

Also saw a Comon Blackbird with white feathers on the nape and flecking elsewhere. Void of colour rather than juvenile tones.

A number of shorebirds still here... Whimbrels, Bar-tailed Godwits, Pacific Golden Plovers (with colour) and Double-banded Plovers (also in colour). Numerous Sacred Kingfishers & a number of Nankeen Kestrels plus the local White-eyes & Golden Whistlers. Hoping to see some Providence Petrels soon & more Red-tailed Tropicbirds.

Very nice find, I saw the report on Eremaea. I would love to go to Lord Howe Island one day, it would be amazing.

Great find! I have only seen them once, at Lake Burrendong Botanic Gardens and Arboretum
