White-cheeked Honeyeater

These are nowhere near as common as the New Holland Honeyeater in my part of Sydney at least. I came across a small group near Castlereagh last Sunday morning. I quite like them, they have sweet calls. Also attached a photo from my friend who took that of me while I was playing papparazzi. LOL! It was about the same time I took this shot anyway.

What a beautiful shot of a most beautiful bird! White-cheeked Honeyeaters also frequent our Grevillas here in the Hunter though only once or twice a year.

Thanks for sharing!

He's a lovely bird.  I don't think we get them here.  I love that we can share pics to show the many beautiful birds across our country that we don't normally get to see.

Nice shot of you, and the bird. Who was hiding in the bushes? (there are some 4x4 prints in the sand). How do you carry all your gear? Climbing up a hill, just looking at it ,there is sweat dripping of my forehead already.

Sometimes I get excited and think I've seen a White-cheeked, but then it's only(?) a New Holland.

There should be some though?

Great photo, as always.

M-L, this is Agnes Banks Nature Reserve, the tracks are from idiots, who defy sense and rules and ride their trailbikes in there. One can only hope they break their necks someday! What do you mean who was hiding in the bushes? I don't get it.

Good detail and pose in this one Akos. Don't you hate seeing trail bike tracks! They don't care about anything except ruining the bush with their stupid bloody bikes!

Cheers, Owen.

Hi Akos, we get those idiots every weekend, not only trail bikes, 4x4 clubs come up here 4-6 cars at the time, even more after some rain, they trash everything.(their clubs even promote the State Parks, and Parks provides them with off loading spots) We never stay home on weekends for that reason.

The "hiding in the bushes" was the answer to your comment about "papparazzi", who are always looking for celebrities .

Lovely shot of a beautiful bird. I was lucky enough to see one last year in my suburb for the first time. I'll have to keep an eye out this year.
