Wood Ducks & Brood

Captured one of the pairs of Australian Wood Ducks that are in the local area with their brood of 12. Will be interesting to see how many survive as there are plenty of eels in the creek and I photographed a pair of large carpet pythons in the vicinity just a few hours before taking these pics.

Very cute. The largest brood we have had so far in my suburb this season is 16, but in the past we have had up to 24 in one brood

Very cute. Whenever I try to get photos the paddle off with their backs facing me as quack ... er ...I mean...as quick as they can.
