Young Horsfield's Bronze Cuckoo

At our place two days ago I saw a young Horsfield's Bronze Cuckoo being fed by a yellow thornbill with two other yellow thornbills in attendance. I don't know if they were also feeding the Bronze Cuckoo but the young Bronze Cuckoo was constantly calling. It was the first time I'd seen yellow thornbills here for about three months.

Fantastic Woko. Its so much more common to see a koel or channel-bill than our other cuckoos.

Hi Holly. Horsfield's Bronze Cuckoo is the most common cuckoo we have here. There's usually at least one around for about 6 or 7 months of the year. In the last couple of years we've had up to two or three. Very occasionally we get a Fan-tailed Cuckoo or a Pallid Cuckoo, less so since our revegetation has matured. Perhaps they prefer more open country.
