echidna

Not the best photo, i had wanted to capture its face, but it was fun to see.  A lovely day at the Lane Cove National Park, a lot of birds and beautiful bushland

Thats a good sighting - I havent seen one for a few years. What part of the park did you visit?

Its good to know that they are still there.  I went in at an entrance on Lane Cove Road, close to Lady Game Drive. It is the 'Wild Walks' walk from Macquarie Train Station to Thornleigh.  I took a wrong turn, so I didn't follow their directions, but that didn't matter.

That would have been a long walk!  I usually multiply by 3 the times given for those walks as I figure im at least that much slower when going at bird watching pace.  I had my echidna sighting near the top of Riverside Drive not far from Lane Cove Road.

Yes, it would have been a long walk, but I didn't go anywhere near that far!  I didn't plan to actually, just used the directions to have a wonder around the area.  And it took me quite a while to find it, the directions were not that clear to me.

Yes, bird watching pace is slow, and I was also just sitting still for a while.  I'm still getting my bearings with all the entrances, i don't know the area very well.   I only know Riverside Drive from the entry close to Milwood Drive I think it is?

But definitely will be going back again soon, I loved it.
