A few little wetland birds

I was happy to see the Forest kingfisher fishing form a nice perch in the wetland area

Baby Masked lapwing plover

four of these little darlings attracted the attention of the Black Kites later in the day  but the parent Plovers made sure that was not going to happen and went after the Kites with gusto!

Non breeding Cattle Egret were plentiful in this field of cattle... they are so funny as every move the cow makes, they follow

I'm jealous of that Forest Kingfisher Adrienne, great photo.

Cheers, Owen.

Very nice Adrienne, the Kingfisher is a ripper.

Those baby lapwings are so adoreable, pitty Mum and Dad are usually so agressive. Loooove the Kingfisher, as you know, one of my favorites. ;)

Love the pics, and especially the cow with her egret companion.

Ah, Karlbob, if the parent masked plovers weren't so aggressive there'd be a lot less masked plovers!

The Lapwings were not too bad towards me but they did take exception to having their babies on the menu for raptor lunch!! They are feisty in protection mode  for sure
