Hi everyone, I have a beautiful caring labrador who found a baby rainbow loriket on our walk.  He has all his feathers, but no tail feathers yet.  Ive been advise I can raise him as it wont be long until he ready to be released but thats all the information I have received. Please tell me how to raise him until he is ready to be released

Thank you

First of all, good on you for caring!

Unless you have experience in raising birds I would give it to a carer.

It's a lot of work and harder than you think to look after a little one.

When you find a baby bird like that, chances are it just fell out of the nest.

If you can put it close by out of harms way or back in the nest (again only if you can) so the parents can still attend to it is ideal.

I only have Wilcare's number in Qld, I'm not sure what state you are in

If you look at this link from the "rescue-rehab" thread, all the numbers are there. Thanks for caring.
