Can anyone suggest an ID for the bird that has this feather, possibly an inner feather, measuring 8cm in length and featuring an orange blush around the edge of the yellow end?

The collection location would help considerably, BirdEnquirer. Even with this information it might be very difficult to identify the bird.
Generally speaking it's very difficult to identify most birds from feathers - unless, I imagine, you're one of those scientific boffins who's up with all the latest in DNA. Somebody else on Birds in Backyards might have thoughts on this.
Hello Woko, further to your reply comment, this feather was collected on my property located in the far south of Tasmania, inland from Dover, in the far reaches of the Huon River estuary. I commonly see wrens and robins, plus thrushes and larger birds such as green rosellas or possibly parrots... and occasionally owls or raptors incl eagles, plus unfortunately too many feral lyrebirds.
That probably helps narrow it down, BirdEnquirer. There are several Tasmanian members who may well be able identify the bird species owning your feather. Keep watching this space.
Can't answer your question - but the experts on Aus Bird ID may be able to - post up there with location, and I'm sure you'll get some help https://www.facebook.com/groups/209677085864957/
