hi we live at the bottom of the blue mountains and recently have heard a bird call that we havent heard before ,its mainly active at dusk and continues into the evening ,its call sounds a bit like someone blowing a whistle slowly its one tone made 3 or 4 times ,its seems to be mainly in our Ficus trees but havent been able to see it .can anyone help I,d love to know what it is
Hi hawk just a guess but could be a small Fan tail cuckoo, they are always hard to find and have just return for spring.
