Just saw a flock of about 20 dollar birds feeding over about a one acre area in my paddock.
possibly feeding on grass hoppers on the wing. it was about sunset.
Normally lucky to see one dollar bird around. go figure.

Random event reinforced by plenty of grasshoppers?
On the first of January we had a flock of 20 or so Dollarbirds on our property here in Castlereagh, NSW. What a racket they made! Since then we have had just one family group of mum, dad, fledgling.
it might be a seasonal thing that brought so many together at once.
Happy Birding!

We have a group of 3 turn up here near Bathurst a couple of weeks ago. They are very noisy, one started to swoop me a couple of times but i waved my hat at it. They can be pretty scary if they decide to attack so I want them to get used to my presence. They are pretty agressive birds sometimes.
