Hi I'm new to Birds in Backyards. The last 2 days we've had a visitor from the north. A white headed pigeon has been feeding in our garden. According to the bird book this bird should not come this far south. we are near to Wilsons Promontory Is this unsual.
It seems it would be quite notable. Did you get a photo?

It would be worth submitting a record into ebird (http://ebird.org/ebird/australia) with details and the photo.
You may also want to additionally submit it to eremaea birdlines http://www.eremaea.com/
