I took this shot of a Northern gannet at Bird Rock on Cape St. Marys Newfoundland back in 2006.
The grey background is sea fog. The gannets were soaring on the updraft on the cliff face. You can see another one rising up out of the fog. The wingspan of the gannets is just over 2 metres, big birds.
