Crow? Raven?

....and this one is??
I know some differences,Crows have a fan-shaped tail, Ravens a more wedge-shaped tail.
Crow feathers are more rounded at the tip, Ravens have more pointy feathers.
So, this one is???
(little Crow, or Australian Raven? (can't tell by the eyes, both are white?) M-L

Large bill (compared with little crow) & throat hackles make this an Australian raven, I reckon, Araminta. The little crow is rather outside your area isn't it?

Hi Corbieryuu. Ravens will be forever grateful if you put into your garden the original native plants which once grew in your area. That’s assuming you haven’t already done so. Putting it another way, you could do nothing better as a friend of ravens than to restore their natural habitat. If you’re unable to do this in your own garden then your might want to seek out a group that is restoring native bush land nearest to where you live. This would be an act that would be in the ravens’ interests.

However, if you want to get up close & personal with a raven then I would first ask the question “In whose interests would this be, yours or the raven’s?” If the answer is the former then perhaps the best way to do this is with a good pair of binoculars. That way you’re minimizing the intrusion into the bird’s life. God knows, the intrusions into birds’ lives we have made certainly haven’t been in the best interests of the birds.

I hope this answers your question, Corbieryuu.
