Decorah Bale Eagle Cam

Hi all.
Just getting round to my first post. I'm wondering if anyone else is among the 99 million viewers (most are not birders) glued to the 24/7 live video cam on the bald eagle nest in Iowa. I'm a raptor gal, grew up in NSW wedge-tailed eagle country and then lived in Canadian bald eagle country half my life. For the past 3 months our family have been captivated by this intimate look at a bald eagle pair raising their babies. It's an initiative of the Raptor Resource Project in Decorah, Iowa. Bald eagles were famously endangered for decades in the US. It's endearing - and a privilege - to see these magnificent creatures teaching their now-huge babies to be grownups, not to mention their very sanitary but hilarious pooping routines. A moderated live chat screen sometimes works. This is the link to the host site

I heard about this and it is great to see eagles raising their babies and bringing food to the nest and feeding it to the chicks like that. It would be great for research. There was a similar one with sea eagles in sydney but the nest tree fell down after the chicks fledged.

Cheers, Owen.
