Small bird ID

I was out at Melbourne Zoo a couple of days ago and I noticed a small bird pecking around in the bushes on the side of the track. It was the size of a common blackbird, mottled brown, had a cream/yellow chest with black spots on it's chest. I have never seen one of these before. And i am wondering what it could be? (Sorry there's no photo)
