Show Me Your Raptors.

Hi everyone I'm a huge raptor fan, and have been fortunate enough to get some nice shots, but please feel free to post yours here, because everyone loves a good Predator. I hope the quality comes through as they are optimised.

Very nice shots, love the second photo (Whistling Kite). I notice you labelled your 3rd photo as Black Kite instead of Whistling, typo?

Here is a male Nankeen Kestrel watching for Cunningham's Skinks on the cliffs of the Blue Mountains, NSW.

Very nice photos Manjucus - thanks for posting.

Great portrait of the WT Eagle, highlighting the powerful beak.

I have not seen a single Black Kite, so im stunned that you can find nine on a street light.

Great subject and some great shots already. I got these series of shots this morning on my way home.

Hovering.

In for the kill.

Great sequence of the BS Kite Reflex - very impressed you caught that quick dive, its always too fast for me to follow.

Thanks Whistling duck. Yes they were all lined up just outside of Cloncurry. I had no idea they were so social.

Heres a couple I got up at Caloundra a few months back.

This Osprey was chasing anything that was coming into his teritory.

The WB Sea Eagle wasn't giving it up in a hurry.

The second shot give you an indication of the size difference between the 2.

Wonderful shots Devstar, it's certainly not hard to love raptors when you see shots like that.

WhistlingDuck

Great moment to capture Devster - it is surprising how insignificant the osprey looks in comparison to that sea eagle.

WhistlingDuck

Not good photos - but as it just from a couple of days ago and I was very pleased to get my first sighting and photos of perched WT eagle - i thought i would add them.

I was walking along  a dirt road at edge of Scheyville NP in Hawkesbury area NSW, and i was really excited to see two wedge tail eagles come from over the trees and sweep low over a field and then back towards me. Rather than rush and try get my camera out of the bag i just enjoyed the sight, expecting they would fly by. Was my lucky day as they flew over me, circled around behind me and came back to the bush line,  one landed on the edge of the bush line not too far ahead of me, while the other flew low between trees about 50m right into the bush.

And I had time to get my camera out of my backpack and take a few photos before they headed off. Bit disappointed I didnt do better photography-wise, but fantastic experience as my only previous WT eagle sightings had been of in them in flight at a distance.

What a stroke of luck Whistler, gorgeous specimen too. Well done!

Right place at the right time WD!

One step to the right would have made all the difference to that first shot but it's easy to say that now. I know what it feels like when you get a golden opportunity like that, the adrenaline kicks in and it all happens so quickly.laugh
