Identifying Call (video) - Mummel Gulf National Park NSW

Hi all,

I was just recently in Mummel Gulf NP in the NSW table lands.. New Country Smamp Campgrounds to be exact.

All throughout the time I was there I heard a musical call off in the ridges further out. I made several attempts to locate the bird for identification but to no avail.

I'm reliatively new to birding, so I'll add these details, unsure if relevant though!
Call is most prevalent in dawn, late morning, and dusk.
1200ms Elevation
'Dry' Rainforest + Peatland
Other Flora: Snowgums, Manna Gums, Messmate, Blackbutt, peatland scrubs & various ferns.
Other birds around: Pied Currawong, Fairy wrens, eastern whipbirds.

The video with the call is on youtube here: https://youtu.be/HbKggG-LUb4

It was a fluting call that repeated as such with little variation, mostly the same length and always the same pitch and style.

Apologies for the low volume video, I've tried to turn the volume higher but it hasn't helped too much!

Thank you all very much, hopefully I've given enough detail!

Rhys

Because I’m not familiar with most of the bird species in the NSW tablelands I’m hoping another Birdsinbackyarder will be able to help.

But allow me to congratulate you on the detail you’ve provided. This can be most helpful in providing accurate identifications.

Thanks Woko! The more detail the better :)

Here's hoping someone will know the bird, such a gorgeous call needs to be identified!
