For those Victorian Birds in Backyarders who are interested in restoring bird habitats in their state could do worse, I suspect, than getting involved with Tree Project (treeproject.org.au). Similar to Trees for Life in South Australia, Tree Project is a "non-profit community organization dedicated to revegetating the Victorian landscape with indigenous trees, shrubs & grasses." There is a variety of volunteer roles available &/or landowners can have plants grown for them. As well, the website has heaps of information about plant species & their propagation.
