Powerful Owl: Brisbane Update

The Brisbane Powerful Owl project is steaming ahead through 2019, with over 400 participants signed up for the coming year. Close to 1000 enthusiastic owl supporters have attended the 11 workshops and talks hosted across Brisbane and beyond, the most recent held at The Bower in Dutton Park, Brisbane. We have also welcomed 3 new students from the University of Queensland who are helping with the field surveys as part of their student placements.

On top of this, there are some extremely encouraging signs - over 100 Powerful Owl sightings have been recorded as of July 2019! A huge thank you is in order to all the volunteers who have made this possible. The likelihood of a couple of new breeding sites are also ruffling our tail feathers, keep your fingers crossed!

We need your help to really understand where Powerful Owls are breeding in our region and what we can do to conserve them. To participate formally you need to attend a workshop where you can learn about owls and sign up to join our surveys. The last one of 2019 will be held in Redlands on the 31st of Aug

Tickets can be reserved here (free event)
