Awesome pics rjwaring!! Is a red headed honeyeater the same as a  scarlet honeyeater (Myzomela sanguinolenta)?

Cheers, Jackie.

Hi Jackie, no, they are different, much to the chagrin of my son who likes to name the birds as he is video-ing them, as I first said red-headed then incorrectly told him I was wrong and it is a scarlet honeyeater. Red-headed are top end only, and scarlet seems to be east coast only. Thanks for the comment. Cheers, Richard

Hi Richard, the way you post your photos, is that something similar to Flickr?  There is no security there, I just clicked on and I could even e-mail your photos, copy and paste etc , anything I wanted to do with them really. What made you use this host? Any advantage? What would be the safest way to post?

Hi M-L. This is just a link from my blog. I suppose the safest way to post in this forum is to use the forum method. I figure people who use this forum are here with the same understanding as me, look but don't touch, maybe that is a bit naive, but I also feel as though I would feel very humbled if people wanted to copy and paste or e-mail any of the photos I put up, I just do it for fun mostly, and to share is my reward. Cheers, Richard

A pretty little bird, Richard, well captured with your camera.  I too wondered if it was related to the Scarlet Honeyeater, though differently marked.  I like your attitude towards sharing, but beware people who abuse the privilege.

Absolutely stunning little bird isn't it?  I share your view on my photos, but yes there are those that would use them. I just figure, at the sizze and resolution /quality of what I post here ....what are they going to want mine for anyway???  But mostly we would just trust and expect our members to ask.If I ever make my living from them , then I will start to be concerned and as that is not likely to happen then ......... cheeky

Hi rjwaring,

We'd be interested in using a photo that you've taken on signage in East Point Reserve - are you able to contact us through City of Darwin switch 8930 0300 and ask for the Marketing/Comms team? We're happy to purchase the images.

Thanks!
