Will Curlew parents accept injured chick after he has recovered?

The injured chick cannot walk on his right foot. We called Animal Rescue for advice and they took him away.

This same chick fell down a storm water drain when 7 days old, we went down and rescued him. Kept him inside for 2 days. Put him back with parents.

3 weeks old he shows up in pain, cannot walk on right foot.

Seemed well enough to sit in our front yard on his knees and eat but when the mother tried to encourage him to follow her several times, the shrieking was too much, we decided to bring him inside. Called Animal Rescue, they took him away and we haven't been given any update.

Will he be returned to his parents or even to our front yard?

The parents hung around our front door for 3 days after we brought him inside. The parents are nesting across the road now  (due January 6th) they visit our front door every night/day when they each have a break from turns sitting on the eggs.

I don’t know the policy or practice of Animal Rescue but you may need to give them a call if you want this bird returned to its parents or to your yard - as will probably be helpful in the long run.
