Happy Monday everyone,
Hope you have all had a great week. Lets focus this time round on feathers - a bird with unique feathers or a close up of some feathers - whatever you like...

Brown Goshawk taking in the sun
Wanda, that is awesome! You're lucky it's a young one, as the adults may not have let you this close.
Where was I when you saw this? :
Damn!
How is your green tree snake going BTW? See the Square-tailed Kites at all last year?
Cheers
Akos
Hi Akos
Sorry the Square-tailed Kites did not come back I was so disappointed.
Have not seen the Green Trees for awhile but had a small Red Bellied black snake living in side garden up until a fortnight ago.
Good to hear from you.
Beautiful shot of the goshawk Wanda. With such a strong left wing view I thought for moment that it might be be a Bobhawke....
(groan....)
Having trouble uploading the picture. But here's a female red tailed cockatoo that dropped by recenty.
Australian Ibis tail
King Parrot (wasn't aware of any blue feathers until I took this shot).

Different shades in this Tasmanian Native Hen (endemic) aka Turbo chook. One of only 3 flightless birds in Australia. Great eating apparently, place in pot with a rock, boil until the rock is soft, throw away the bird and eat the rock!

That sunning Goshawk is stunning! I agree, I can never get that close to them.
Can't go past a "feathers" theme without a Lyrebird. Not a great photo, but sure is a great bird.
Dave, Sydney.
Ok, so these are not very fabulous feathers by any means but they are very worn out. If this cocky could talk....

Thanks Shorty.... I did have a read. This photo is 2 year old taken in my back yard and I have not seen him since.

Interesting feathers around the neck on this New Holland Honeyeater.

Yes Reflex!
I thought I was going crazy when I took a similar photo (below), but they do have interesting feathers around the neck.
