Went down the coast today and got a lousy long distant shot but a tick on the Godwit.

But got a real bonus by taking pics of a Shelduck that turned out to be a Paradise Shelduck :)

Wow that's an unusual find in Australia. I had to google it, as I'd never heard of that name. From what I can see they are normally a New Zealand based bird and has a conservation status of "Threatened". Might be worth recording that sighting?
Congrats on the Hudsonian Godwit. Hard birds to identify. It looks like there are two birds in photograph #1? "Distinctly pale face and eyebrow".
What's your bird count now?

It was due to a report on Facebook (Twitchers of Australia )that drew my attention that i got this.
Eremaea don't accept my reports.

It has been recorded here in Australia before but is still a rare sighting.

Surely that's an easy fix and only a case of you registering yourself on Eremaea?

It's amazing what you find when you poke around in unlikely, or even likely, places. Brilliantly done, Shorty!

Congratulations, Shorty! Wow, 329 differents species is a lot. How many years have you been birding for now?
M.M.
Thanks MM, 3 years. I photographed over 200 in my first year so it has slowed down a bit now.

Dear Reflex, I am an absolute bird nut and often create quilts using birds in them. I have been trying to contact you for a while to say haow much I admire your photography. At 3.30am one morning I actually joined Birds in my Backyard hoping to contact you via the public forum. I often make quilts to raise funds for charities and was looking at the portrait compositition of your eclectus parrot on google and have created my own version of a head shot using my photo. But I do like to give where I get my inspiration from and so if you like to send me some details to send off with the entry form you and Birds in Backyards will get attribution. If it is accepted into the show then it will travel Australia for a while and then I was hoping to maybe raffle it for Birds in Backyards or another nominated charity if you wish to help select one. Regards M
Mariya, I'm confused. No idea why you have posted a message to me on here. None of these are my photographs. Suggest you PM me rather than post on here.
Regards.
