Mistletoebird doing its thing

On a recent trip to Cobar in NSW (before the lockdown), I encounterd this male Mistletoebird and realised later that it was passing seeds. Hope you enjoy the sequence.

That's pretty cool Sue, gues there will be more Mistletoe trees.

I expect there will be more Mistletoe but recall hearing that these birds perched sideways so the seed landed on the branch... maybe it is just sticky.

Lovely sequence. A phrase not often used when watching something excrete feces. lol. From what I've read it takes about 20 minutes to pass though and it is coated in a sticky residue in order to adhear to the branches so it may germinate

Thanks, Dev. You are correct apparently it is the stickiness that causes the seeds to adhere rather than a sideways perch which probably only occurs when trying to remove the sticky seed. Pure fluke catching the sequence.
