Buff-banded Rail.

We've had these at our local wetlands for quite a number of years. At first, they were very shy and would run for cover whenever anyone approached closer than about 50m. Over the years they have become a little more trusting with this one being happy for me to sit within 6 to 8m of him. Thanks for viewing.

A handsome one it is George, and nicely captured, but as I don't know where all you guys live, I have no way of knowing where this bird's habitat is ... unless I run to the good book each time to look them up ... :(

Nice shot George,I know what you mean by them being shy the ones we have here in the drain go like a Bondi tram if they see you.
