Thanks for the feedback guys.

raysimula - hanging rock is near the macedon ranges in central victoria. There are rumours of a powerful owl somewhere in the region and I am sooooo keen to get a shot of it!

Hey birdie - I take my own reference shots but am planning to start branching out and maybe doing some commission work.

Below is an illustration of the white earred honeyeater.

Just awesome Berldo! I love black and white pencil sketches, they are so crisp and clean somehow. My mother is a very detailed watercolourist (85 yrs old now) and she has always done flora. it is a joy to watch her sketch as she still has it! She is currently teaching my daughter who is coming along well. I love her watercolours, but there is something special about the the pencil stuff. I can still remember my first ever night school art lesson, I had to sketch an orange..... couldn't believe my eyes as it took shape and I found I could take control of light and shade. I was in my mid 20s and had never picked up a pencil! The legacy of an academic education back then, nowadays the kids are able to experience so much more at an early age.
I Really look forward to seeing a few more
Keep them coming
Cheers

Not just rumours Anthony, as I took this photo of a powerful owl
at Hanging Rock on my last bird walk.
I'm leading another bird identification walk at the Rock on September 26th.
So if you're still keen to see one, you are welcome to join us.
If you would like to come along, give me a ring on after August 18th,
as I'm away at the moment birding around the Maroochydore area.
Cheers,
al

al I would have loved to have come on that walk but am away for a wedding that week. Is your number still valid for other walks around the area at different times of year?

Anthony, contact me anytime you like, after August 18th.
Then we can arrange something.
birdie, you can get a brochure "Bird Routes Maroochy Shire"
from Information Centres or the Shire Office.
It has 29 different bird watching areas described
in the brochure telling you what birds you will see.
It also has a list of birds sighted in the Maeoochy Shire.
Cheers,
Al

Hey thanks Berldo, I like your stuff! I'll keep an eye on it now. if you are looking at mine there may be a good deal of ordinary stuff on there too, I use it for ID's etc not just good shots. I am too mean to pay for a pro account so I only ever have the latest 200 anyway.

Al, thanks for that info. I tried to find it on the internet bit gave up after trying every thing I could think of to pick it up. Guess I'll have to make the trip into the Council office.

Cheers
