Hmm, St. Joseph's carpark, where?? There have to be hundreds of St. Joseph's Churches in Australia?! I haven't seen a Rufous Fantail in my garden lately, used to have some for years, but they are not uncommon where I live. It would help to know , where the church is?
Which Kingswood was that? There must be literally millions of Kingswoods in the world!
Sut beriously, rufous fantails are pretty cute little birds. I sometimes see them (although the greys are far more common) at my property in Gippsland. (Which Gippsland, I hear you ask...???!!!)
The Rufus Fantail was seen in St.Joseph's Church Car park, Kingswood, NSW, 2747 on Sunday the 17th at about 9.30am. I would appreciate knowing if anyone has seen this variety in the Kingswood/Penrith, NSW area recently.
Lucky I knew which Kingswood you would have been talking about. Well I was hoping. St Joseph's, that's the Roman Catholic at the back of the station near Victoria St at the round about isn't it? The one that has the mass hall like an old school room?
I live in Cambridge Gardens, just to the north. While probably somewhat unusual in our 'hood, I guess they are found in ideal habitats closer to the Nepean River and in the mountains. So I suppose it's not all that "rare", but very nice for sure. I've seen one in Silverdale along Scotcheys Creek. And pretty sure they turn up near Castlereagh too. :)
