OK so I just watched a DVD I hired from my local Video Ezy here in Darwin - "Travelling Birds".
Has anybody else watched it? It was great, I just loved it! It's all about migratory birds making the big flight with the change of seasons. They feature so many different birds, and so many types of behaviours I was oohing and ahhing and giggling the whole time.
If you haven't seen it, my fellow twitchers I suggest you do. For myself I am only just beginning to learn the wonders of birds, and am obviously starting with Australian species. This DVD focusses more on the Northern Hemisphere methinks and so it was excellent seeing new and spectacular birds. E.g Greater Sage Grouse. Crazy!
Sounds good, and I have never heard of it I must admit. If you are interested in humour nad learning about birds, try reading Sean dooley's "The Big Twitch" ..... it was hilarious.

Oh yes, I should definitely give that one a read, thanks for the suggestion Birdie. The movie was great, though it wasn't humurous I think I'm just very exciteable and like to put voices to the birds actions. Bit silly, but that's me :P
If you can get hold of it, Bird Behaviour by Robert Burton is unputdownable for the bird enthusiast thirsting for knowledge.
Thanks for the suggestion also Woko. I'll have to give that one a go too!
Channel 9 has 'Earth Flight' debuting on Thursday night at 7:30 - I can't wait! From the previews the footage looks amazing.
Yeah it looks great Holly! I've set a reminder on my phone!
