The Sulphurs have had some bad press here of late: this little clip shows them dining alfresco...see they aren't all BAD! This video took 12 months to capture, it was worth the wait...what do you think?
here is a 'birds eye view' of what's all about
cheers & enjoy ad.
Nice vid David.
The red colour in the flowers of that silky oak is spectacular. I wouldn't have expected to see them eating it while flowering, would have expected them to be eating the seeds later in the cycle.

Thanks Tim, so delicate for such big birds it's almost surreal! Yes they will be back for the seeds (vid#2) but they much prefer the flowers likely the seeds are too insignificant and not worth the effort! ad
Wow, delicate is certainly the right word David - they're being very gentle & selective. Definitely worth the 12 months wait for me to see this! . Keep them coming, please!

Thanks Ruby, yes very interesting, very delicate. If there is a bit of action at the week end I will try to get some more. With the colour combo I would love a good still too. cheers ad
Here is another one, not so close
Is that nectar, or dew, or a mix of both on the flowers? It looks like it is absolutely oozing liquid birdy food - almost wish I was a bird seeing that up close, nice one David!

Hi Ruby, I call them honey pots, yes they are oozing nectar very sticky, very sweet. Very birdie attractive. Managed to get a bit more footage today will see if it makes a second video. The sulphurs love it and the red wattle birds drop in from time to time too!! ad
