Here are some butterfly pictures that I have got so far... Including a Pale? Hunter (dragonfly) and a couple of frogs from a trip to Conondale NP; Fleay's Barred Frog and an unidentified frog.

Nice pics Brandon.
Your unidentified frog could be this guy:

Great shots! The Fleay's Barred Frog sure has some beautiful markings and patterns on him (or her ).

Firstly thankyou for sharing some of your photos, much appreciated ( and by the looks and comments ,not just from me either)
Wow what an assortment you have there , thats a lovely close up of the Orange dart. I just love insects. The other day I had a massive panic attack as my Son Jacob was looking out the back door at our 2 dogs and commented '' Gee look at the size of that insect thing, its massive . Lily is trying to eat it". I ran that fast I dont think my feet touched the ground as I thought it was a cicada I had seen earlier that day. But to my amazement it actually was a rather large stick insect. The poor thing was that scared that it had its wings out and up. I managed to save it from the jaws of killer Lily and placed it out the frontyard where I also managed to get a few photos of it. I was doubly happy as it survived and also the first time I had seen a stick insect ( besides at a enclosure) and got some photos of it. Didnt get any with it's wings still out ( which was really pretty to see) but was happy none the less to get the ones I got.

Thanks darinnightowl, not too bad considering I haven't got a macro lens .
At least having the 300mm lens you can keep your distance without them flying off too quick.

I don't know whose photos you are talking about... haha!

Hopefully it was both of us lol ... Well that's what I thought anyway.

Hey Brandon (aka ihewman) while on the subject of butterflies I was wondering if you could ID this one for me. I couldn't get a photo of it with its wings open ( which is a big shame) as it would have probably been easier to ID but I know that they were very blue as that is what caught my eye in the first place when it was in flight.

Looks like a Blue Argus... (I think that's what they call it these days). Butterfly names must change every week, or something like that. It's all very confusing... I have an old field guide.

Great shots. Keep in mind, folks, that these creatures provide good tucker for birds. They also help pollinate plants. And make the world a fascinating place.
OMG Brandon you are amazing. I just looked it up and you are so right. You are a butterfly genius. Thankyou so much. Now after seeing photos with its wings open I will have to travel back to that nursery to see if I can possibly get a photo of it with its pretty blue wings open. All this butterfly and moth hunting is so exciting.

Oh I forgot to mention. .. Always take your camera when you visit nurseries when shopping for plants. We went to a awesome native nusery the other day to buy some more bird attracting plants for our garden and the first plant I touched was this butterfly that went fluttering off then came back and landed in the same spot.

Ok just to throw a spanner in the works I have had a ID from a member on flickr of this butterfly, she sems to think it is a Ogryis amaryllis (Satin Azure) she has given me a link to compare . http://www.flickr.com/photos/toddburrows/5726337248/ so now I a tad confused .

It just so happens that I know Todd Burrows... ha, what a small world!
As for the butterfly I have no idea, meaning I can't be positive of it's ID. What I do know is that Todd is just that good (a human field guide, almost) that I would trust him on Satin Azure.
BTW, I'm not that good... I wouldn't say butterfly genius.
